Welcome to the Educational Services page of Trinity Mother Frances. The Education Services Department provides formal and informal learning opportunities to help improve employee skills, knowledge, attitudes and behavior in order to promote quality patient care/services through competent employees.

Mission Statement
The Education Department of Trinity Mother Frances (TMF) is dedicated to enhancing learning opportunities by promoting the system mission and vision for excellence in patient care. The Education Department is devoted to the five pillars of excellence by providing valued learning opportunities for the staff of TMF so that service, quality, financial and growth continues.
Each program design incorporates adult learning principles for both licensed and unlicensed attendees. The curriculums are receptive to individual discipline practices, designed to promote excellence in patient care, committed to promoting higher standards of learning in healthcare at TMF and also advocate for quality patient care and professional work environments. The programs are designed for all levels of staff training that include but are not limited to the following Programs: Initial Orientation, American Heart Association programs, Residencies, Safety Programs, Community Health, Leadership, Continuing Medical Education, and Hospital & Clinic Competency Programs.
The main goal of Education Services is to foster an exceptional level of interdisciplinary curriculum with a caring spirit to motivate and empower those we serve and to train staff in reaching quality patient outcomes. The curriculum’s stance is in accordance with the TMF policies and procedure, Joint Commission of Accreditation for Hospital Organizations, Texas Department of Health and Texas Medical Association. The mission is also in alignment with the beliefs and values of our faith-based organization.
Philosophy
Trinity Mother Frances Education Services is true to the spirit of enhancing learning through a motivating and caring environment. The content of the programs offer unlimited opportunities for advancing the student’s intellectual abilities. Individual critical thinking and goal-directed curriculum enhances the level of learning while promoting quality patient outcomes. Adult learning principles that incorporate age appropriate levels of care are reflected in the curriculum planning, implementation and evaluation. Important principles that include employee and patient safety measures are routinely integrated into each program instruction.
The staff development education team has adopted the philosophical belief of collaborative patient care management. This philosophy is based on interdisciplinary communication and planning that focuses on core patient care outcomes. Staff attending the programs is provided a meaningful learning experience by concentrating on the main components of providing excellence in patient and staff safety. The system executives and administrative team support Education Services philosophical view on individual staff learning and educational growth opportunities.

To assess, plan, implement and evaluate ongoing education and training opportunities to maintain and improve staff competence.

To collect aggregate data on competency patterns and patient care trends in the development of specific learning needs for the organization.
To utilize a collaborative system approach for determining staff development needs and formulating a comprehensive educational plan for each calendar year.
