TRINITY CLINIC EYE CENTER NOW OPEN
Introduces Blade-Free Lasik Procedure
TYLER, TX -- Officials with Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics announced the opening of Trinity Clinic Eye Center, located inside HealthPark Plaza at 1327 Troup Highway.
Clayton E. Whitney, MD, FAOO, FACS is the Clinic's chief of ophthalmology and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease and conditions.
The Trinity Clinic Eye Center is the only facility in the area to offer blade-free LASIK surgery using the most advanced blade-free, all-laser LASIK technology; the Ziemer FEMTO LDV™ Femtosecond Surgical Laser with the AMO VISX Star S4 with Custom-Vue Wavefront guided technology.
"LASIK has become the most popular and widely used surgical procedure for vision correction, perfected in millions of successful operations over the past 20 years," said Dr. Whitney. "Trinity Clinic Eye Center offers LASIK surgery using state-of-the-art lasers and diagnostic equipment for superior vision correction."
"LASIK surgery using the latest in laser technology, the Ziemer FEMTO LDV, offers patients the blade-free experience that provides an unprecedented level of safety, precision and comfort while also striving for the highest quality of vision possible. The surgeon can define the diameter and depth of the corneal flap more accurately, ensuring more precise control for a safer procedure," he said.
Additional advantages of this new Ziemer FEMTO LDV laser include operation at pulse rates that are orders of magnitude higher, pulse energies that are much lower, and delivery optics that are very tightly focused for maximum tissue disruption in the focal point and no thermal or radiation effects to the surrounding tissue.
Benefits of this state-of-the-art technology include:
• Shorter and safer procedure
• Rapid healing and visual recovery
• Excellent visual outcomes with an increased chance of achieving 20/20 vision or better
Other services offered at Trinity Clinic Eye Center include:
• Eye examinations and glasses prescriptions
• Small incision cataract surgery and YAG laser capsulotomy
• Premium intraocular lenses including the Restor Aspheric Lens for distance and near vision and the Toric intraocular lens for the correction of astigmatism
• Corneal transplantation including traditional transplants and the new DSEK procedure, a corneal transplant without sutures in the cornea
• Glaucoma evaluation and treatment including laser surgery
• The evaluation and coordination of care for diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, contact lens wear, and eyelid disorders
• Ophthalmic consultative services to professionals
