The Birth Center

The Birth Center, located on the second floor of Mother Frances Hospital, provides Level II antepartum, labor and delivery and postpartum service with a nursing staff specially trained in identifying and responding to obstetric and medical complications of labor and delivery.  The Center also has a state-of-the-art infant security system in place.
 
The Birth Center features family centered maternity care and offers rooming-in, as well as a sibling visitation program.  Prior to the birth, comprehensive childbirth education is available for parents.  In addition, we offer in-house patient education programs which provide thorough one-on-one  and group instruction in newborn parenting skills, as well as classes focusing on specific medical concerns.  Breastfeeding classes are also available through our Lactation Center.

Patient Care Planner 
At 32 weeks gestation, expectant mothers are invited to meet with our Patient Care Planner to create an individualized plan of care. The plan will be placed on the expectant mother's hospital chart.  There is no charge for the service which takes approximately an hour.  For more information or to make an appointment, please call (903) 531-4186.
