Bursitis - inflammation or irritation of a bursa; may be caused by repetitive activities like prolonged kneeling or can result from a direct blow to the bursa
Concussion - an injury to the brain, ranging from mild to severe. Treatment is determined by severity and duration of symptoms.
Contusion - bruise, typically caused by a direct blow to the affected body part. This can cause bleeding in the underlying muscle, resulting in a black and blue area or a hematoma (a pocket of blood in the muscle).
Fracture - broken bone, including fractures that may not be visible on X-ray, such as stress fractures
Ligament - cord or band-like structure that runs from bone to bone in a joint
Sprain - injury to a ligament that can range from a mild stretch to a complete tear
Strain - injury to a tendon or muscle, ranging from a mild stretch to a complete tear
Tendon - cord or band-like structure that connects muscle to bone
Tendonitis - inflammation or irritation of a tendon, usually due to a repetitive activity, such as running
